Has anyone gone right from graduating into Dialysis? My friend is very interested in going into dialysis at a clinic, I really don't know much about this..can anyone help??

Whatever field of Nursing gives your friend the most satisfaction... is what your friend should do. Check with the local dialysis clinics and find out what their requirements are.

Yes... at least where I work, new grads are DEFINATELY welcome.

Because they are sent to a 2-6 wk. intensive course (classroom) and then are trained at the clinic on the floor. No problem there. Different companies may vary in how they do things, but check it out.

My sister is head nurse for a dialysis unit. She hires new grads as well as experienced nurses.

Hi I am also interested in dialysis nursing when I graduate in May 2003. I know some places are accepting new grads and want to train new grads. Some say 1 year experience with nursing prefered but that doesn't always mean anything. I know a cool website that lists jobs in certain states or nationwide. http://www.brumley.com/renal I am inquiring throught the internet about jobs but I may try to pass the boards first to get my RN before trying to learn all of the new material for dialysis nursing. I think it would be wise to do the boards first so that you don't have to worry about studying for that and doing an intense training program. Best of luck!
