Marshall University Nurses

Hi, I was wondering if there were any Marshall University Nurses that come to this site. Also, if you graduated from there, how do u rate the Nursing Program? I start there in August. I am going for my BSN degree. I hear it is a great school. I am excited and can't wait to get started!

Hello, I will be a senior this fall. The program is good but you will find a lot of situations along the way that you will disagree with. You will meet some very good professors who devote their lives to this program and will go above and beyond to see you reach your goals. You will also meet some professors who could care less about you. The program is very hard and stressful. The goal is to cram as much information in your head as possible. I do not agree with this strategy. For instance, I have 8 test in the next 2 weeks, a presentation, and clinical obligations as well. While everyone else at Marshall has a dead week this week in order to study for their finals, nursing students do not. The material and books that we use are the same books 3rd year medical students are using at Marshall. You will learn a lot but due to having to cram all the information, you never fill confident about what you have learned. You devote your self to this program and you will make it. You decide to party or work and you will fail or really struggle along the way. I have seen many straight A highschool students fail this program due to partying, please don't be one of them in your class. I truly wish you the best. Your first year will be the easiest and your Junior year first semester will be the hardest. Good Luck!

I was wondering if any previous Marshall Nursing Students remember when the books go on sale. Is it the first of August?
