Want to work per diem, use agency or not?

I'm an experienced ICU nurse and I am starting to look for a per diem job in Seattle area (I currently work in San Francisco). Is it better to us agency or find jobs on my own? What are the pros and cons?

    A huge pro would be knowing where you'll actually be working from one day to the next. I'd look for my own position and use agency only as a last resort.
