How long can you placed on suspension pending an investigation.

I'm a CNA, I just got to work on a Monday morning, after serving breakfast on my hall. I went straight to give showers on to be called by my HR and be told I had to be put on suspension pending an investigation. A resident reported that I slapped him and pushed him around. I told the HR I have no idea of what the resident was talking about. It's been one week since I left work without any call from my HR or administration. What should I do?

Unfortunately, other than checking in with HR for an update, there just isn't much you can do. They will probably be tight lipped with info when you call them as well. I would be cautious and start looking for new jobs though. The longer the suspension stretches out, the less promising the outcome.

I'm so sorry you are going thru this.

You should operate on the assumption you will be terminated and look for a new job.

You can be on suspension for as long as your facility's policy states you can.

Have you tried calling your immediate boss to ask about your status?

Some places have unions for their CNAs. If you're a union member, check with your union representative for info.
