Out of touch, no experience RN employment

Facts about me:

-No work experience as an RN at all

-Been 6 years since I graduated with BSN

-Let my FL RN license expired in 2013

-Active RN license in HI since 2017

-Currently active duty military till Apr 2018, possible early separation with a job offer.

Knowing that it would be very difficult for my situation, is there such an agency, or nursing recruiter that could help me?

I want to seek employment in the 48 states.

All the staffing agencies I've seen is for travel nurses.

I'm aware of the 2-year minimum experience requirement for travel nurses so I'm not looking into that.

I know that the best bet is to apply to the healthcare facilities directly. However, with my situation, I'm not picky and looking for employment in any state (lower 48), any facility, and any specialty.

Any help and/or information would be very welcomed and appreciated.

With 6 years of not working as a nurse since graduation, you're going to need to be prepared to explain that. And especially why there is a 4 year gap in your licensure. You may benefit from finding a refresher course to take.

Curious as to why you wouldn't be using your nursing skills in the military..? That just stands out to me as a way to get the needed nursing experience, since you may have difficulty obtaining a nursing position in the private sector with being out of school for so long.

But I also know very little about serving...

Maybe look at the VA system for an "in"?

In the beginning it was hard for me to get employment because of my immigration status. I joined the military to take care of that.

At the time of enlistment, I did not have much option because of, again, my immigration status. I was not well informed about the military either, but I joined anyway.

Now that my contract is almost up and I have my citizenship, I'm planning on going back to nursing.

All of the military facilities I've seen require experienced nurses.
