Easiest way to learn about meds?

Hey guys! I've been struggling with remembering meds and it's harder if I'm not in the hospital with patients every week as a student. So out of curiosity, how do you not only study meds but keep the knowledge for a really long time? Thanks!

While in school remembering medications is all about memorizing the names and classes. I found that to be easier by really studying what exactly the medication did to correct the pathology of whatever illness it is being used to treat. If you understand how certain classes of drugs exert their pharmacological effects then remembering the names seemed easier to me. When in practice you keep seeing the same medications over and over and that's when they truly get committed to long term memory.

The way I did it was to organize a list of different classes of meds, for example

Header: Cardiac

Sub-header: ACEI, CCBs, BBs, diuretics etc

Then look up that class on YouTube and watch the lectures/tutorials there. There are some fantastic ones, like Khan Academy. They helped me so much. I'm much more likely to retain like that than reading text.
