I am stressing out so bad about this exam. I didn't received my ATT until last Thursday, 6/16 and the only dates to test anywhere in Georgia was either this Thursday or wait until July 12th. Well, I don't really want to stress out about this test another few weeks so I chose to take it this Thursday. I have the Kaplan Question Trainer CD and only scored 60% on test 7 this morning. I feel like that is really low!! I also have purchased the Mosby's CAT test online. According to it, I have a 92% chance of passing the NCLEX after my first test and a 99% chance after the second test. I also have a couple of Saunder's CDs and have been scoring between 70-75% on them. How do you all views these scores?? I am so doubting myself now and contemplating moving my exam date back. Are these scores really bad?? This anxiety is killing me.

Hello! I totally understand about being nervous for NCLEX! I take it July 1 and am calm one minute, stressed the next....

I think your scores are great!!!! I think you will be fine on test day! Just keep telling yourself how far you have come and how smart you are and how you got through nursing school....and that you can do it! Good luck! :)

Ure scores sound fine...i also took mosby cat and I have a 94% but I cant seem to get higher.....I only did kaplan to test 5 and I have a 57% haven't taken test 7 yet dont stress alot of people say kaplan is harder .....u seem well prepared im sure u will pass.....I also take mine thursday!!!! im nervouse to but anxious for it to be over good luck to u

first off, quit taking the 'trial' tests. ALL you will do at this point is drive yourself nuts.

My initial 'test examples' said I'd pass with better than 92% chance -I failed the first test, went through all but one question.

I passed it the second time I took the NCLEX with the fewest questions you could take (means I passed by a good margin).

most all of us ( I sure was) are a bit terrified of the NCLEX. You should be. It means a lot to you. However, do this:

Take your (my favorite is the Saunders CD) go to the review mode -do NOT take the test mode anymore. it won't serve any purpose. Select all of the questions. I like saunders because you can literally pick up where you left off. THEN start the review. Every question you take, when you get the answer (no matter weather you answered correctly or not) REVIEW the reason that the answer was (right or wrong). Why? Here is the deal:

NCLEX expects that you know the material. You passed the coures. At this point, they don't care if you know it or not -you should know it. What it is really testing is your thinking process (that more than anything). If you read EVERY question and its (correct) answer, and the rational for the answer, you will think like NCLEX, and you WILL pass it. I say this because after failing miserably, I used the Saunders disk exactly the way I told you, and I passed with flying colors. I knew the material. I was an A/B student. What I didn't do was think the way they wanted me to think. I also suffer from test anxiety, and everyone does from THIS test (kind of like the old way of doing ACLS for those of you who remember the old style of one-against-the-world megacodes). Just review 'em like this, you will do fine. If you feel that bad about it, bump it back to the next test date -but try not to do this because no matter what, you will never feel totally ready -thats the nature of this test.

Thanks for the good advice. I will do just that. I have been reviewing Lippincotts book. I have the Saunders CD and plan on that this week.

PIE...you aren't gonna fail...keep that in your mind...to pass I believe you must be very confident...believe in your self...know you can do this...I always had severe test anxiety in school...so I taught myself to get rid of that feeling...to relax...breath deeply and know that I can do this.......and I was a trooper.............I marched in the day of my test...saying I know I will do this....I have to for me..............and I did...determonation helps......THRESSA :rotfl:

sorry for the delay. Was running a string of shifts in a row, and tend to ignore the computer when I do that.

I went through almost the entire set of allowed questions and failed. TECHNICALLY that means I was right below the line of 'pass'. I defined failing miserably as failing, and feeling miserable (which I did, as does every candidate that does not pass) -I thought I was ready, and many of my classmates passed it the first time. Like most, I'd put a lot of time, and not a few dollars in 'prep' materials. And felt like the 5 hrs I took were wasted time (though thats not true, as it was a learning experience). Failed is failed, weather by a wide margin, or a narrow one. Still didn't get the license number.

Guess its a matter of perspective :) Took me a little while to lift up my chin, not be ashamed (no reason to be, but my nature, I guess) and get the will to send another application and set a test date.

If I can offer up advice to help someone else not live that experience, I'd be more than willing to do what I could. Oddly enough, however, I wouldn't trade my own experience for anything. The elation of getting the 'passed' result was, well, indescribable.

Hey you'll pass this time because of this experience...like you said its your experience and you would not trade it....get a few books, borrow them from classmates...practice questions...honest it helps...I practiced for a week straight....I found the test hard but not extremely difficult because of doing lots of practice NCLEX questions, in doing the qustions what I didn't klnow I looked up in other books...I learned alot from that also :uhoh21: ............I wish you the best of luck this next go around...it is a tuff test...............BUT YOU WILL DO IT THIS TIME ........................well gotta go get some Zzzzzzzzzz's I work in a substance abuse and treatment center tonite>>>>GOOD LUCK>>>>>>THRESSA

I just took the NCLEX-RN on the 23rd ass well.......the test stopped after 75 questions.....I am real nervous now..
