Hello all,

I was hoping to get some input on the acceptance process for the Georgetown CNM/WHNP program. My application went under review today and I am on pins and needles. I have been told by admissions it would take 2-4 weeks, but I have read on this board many found out within a day or two. I just am curious as to how long it actually took for both people who got in and who did not.

Hello Kaylynn, I have my fingers crossed for you! I'm looking into schools to apply to for next fall. Is Georgetown's program extremely expensive?

It is pretty expensive, but I think I like the format, time involved, dual certification etc to make it worth it to me. My husband is about to graduate from Vanderbilt with his MSN and it is no more expensive than that was..

I've lived in the DC metro area my entire life, I hope you get into the program! Georgetown is a wonderful school/hospital/community; diverse population and colorful cultural pockets. With all the embassies and international presence you will get to interact with so many people you would never usually meet elsewhere. I've heard great feedback from nursing and medical students.

Did you apply to the online program? I hope to as well in the future and was wondering if you ever hear back from them.

Yes I did apply for the online program, and I was accepted but it took about 2.5 weeks for me to hear something!

Not 100% sure just yet. I'm just exploring all of my options.

I know this is an old post but I just wanted to see how you are liking the program? I applied and currently in the waiting process. It's been about a week now and hope not too much longer to find out.

Re Georgetown and dual specialty, I would highly recommend not doing CNM with WHNP. The WHNP doesn't increase your scope of practice. Do an FNP. Even if you think you only want to see women now as a future CNM, I can guarantee there will come a time when you want to care for a man or for a baby past one month.

I believe there are just 3 states in the country where having WHNP with CNM makes sense due to state regulations.
