Let's say I'm planning on OR scheduled to complete my BSN on december (fall semester) of let's say 2006. The deadlines for some CRNA school applications are anywhere from the fall or spring preceding the beginning of the program. Could I apply to a CRNA program in November (because let's say that's their deadline) even though my BSN will not be completed until December?

How about meeting the 1 yr ICU requirement. What if I start in January and by November I would only have 11 months experience, but would have over 1 1/2 years exp by the time CRNA school starts?

DO I MAKE ANY SENSE? I think all I'm asking is: must requirements be met for application OR must they be met to start CRNA school?

Depends on the school, each sets their own standards and can make changes when they want..........their is no set rule..............

you're going to be up against folks with 10 years cc experience. get your bsn, get experience, get your ccrn and apply.

What your proposing isn't impossible but what's the rush? - have you contracted some sort of CA that limits your time on earth? Just focus on passing your classes, pass your boards and build a solid ICU experience. Every single CRNA that I know and will ever know is a planner just like you. We all possess the type A personality - it's our nature. My advice to you is take small steps, excel with every step and before you know it you'll be a CRNA. Please believe me that time and experience are your friends in this field! Hopefully, I make some sense. Kinda funny how the most widely known drugs we students know about are H2 blockers, PPI's, and bicitra (and also reglan)!!!! You can never go wrong if you premedicate a patient with them, :chuckle. I can't tell you how many of my careplans contain them. Don't forget that you may also need a B-blocker for not only HTN but also anxiety because if you're not on one now there's a definite increased chance of being on one in school.
