Compression Socks / Stockings

Good afternoon!

My Boyfriend asked to get him some "Ted" compression socks to wear while working at the hospital.

What kind do you wear / recommend? What is the difference between the Ted brand and sports compression socks?

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

TED stockings would not compress enough for someone on their feet all day. I got a cheap pair of Beyond brand compression stockings and they're decent but only go to my calf so they're awkward. I would recommend thigh high compression stockings.

Interesting! Thank you! He said that the women he's been working with told him they use Ted. (Neither one of us knows the difference.) So I am very open to suggestions! :) Thank you again!

No problem. I just remember because Ted rhymes with bed. Teds are good for those who are bed bound :) good luck with the search

What would be the indication for wearing compression stockings?

I just bought Remedy calf compression sleeves from Groupon for $10

https://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-remedy-calf-compression-sleeves-10

I like them so far. They are 25-30 Hgm. The compression stockings I bought before were 10 Hgm, which was ok, but I can feel the difference with the higher compression. I like sleeves better than socks, because socks make my feet sweaty :nailbiting:. With sleeves, I can wear my preferred socks and be nice and comfy all night. I tried the socks over the compression stockings and it was like a non-sweaty inferno in my shoes lol. Another nice aspect of sleeves is that you don't have to wash them each wear.

I wear JOBST knee-high, open toe, compression 25. They wash and wear pretty well. And really help with fatigue!

I wear Sockwell compression socks. I like them because they don't roll down halfway through the day!

'TED' is not a name brand, per se. TED is an acronym that stands for 'Thrombo-Embolic Deterrent.'

Hence, TED hose = Thrombo-Embolic Deterrent hose. They're called TED hose because they help deter the development of thrombi and emboli, a.k.a. clots.

I wear 20-30mm Hg thigh highs by Allegro to reduce leg fatigue/soreness (they really work)... I get them at BrightLifeDirect.com. I wait for their sales where they have buy three get one free. I think there should be a sale coming in Dec or Jan.
