I bet there is NO way that I will get into an ASN next fall.I failed a statistics course this summer (although now I have found out that it isn't necessary to have) which brought my already terrible gpa of 2.1 down to a 1.9.........
I have a BSed but just screwed up the first two years of school...in Math courses go figure. I was one of those I don't know what I want to do my life kind of kids so I didn't put my heart into school.
The only things going for me are having a (1) BSEd (2) Pre reqs completed with As and Bs. (3) Being a CNA. (4) I'm almost 40
There is only one college for an ASN in my area so it is very competitive to get in. They require a 2.5 overall. And excellent TEAS scores. I haven't taken TEAS yet.
Do you think I stand a chance if I retake a terrible class to bring my gpa up next semester!? The overall gpa is the only thing standing in my way.
Thank you!

I'm confused. You said that one stats class brought your GPA down from 2.1 to 1.9, but then you go on to say that your pre-reqs consisted of A's and B's. So, your pre-reqs made your GPA anywhere from a 3.0 to 3.5, correct? Even if you're calculating with your previous bad GPA in your bachelor's degree, a bachelor's is at least 120 hours, and there is no way that one class could bring it down 20/100ths of a point with that many hours.
I have only 30 hours of nursing-only classes behind me, and the difference in an A or a B for one four-hour class only affected my GPA by 13/100ths of a point, not 20/100ths.
Are you sure you're figuring your combined GPA correctly? How does the school look at your GPA? Do they consider the GPA for the previous bachelor's, only pre-req courses, or what?
