YNHH Interview

Published

Hey everyone! I am a new grad (may '15) with an ADN. I have been working at a pediatric office per diem for a little over 1 month- they are NEMG so they are a Yale affiliate. I got a call today for an interview at YNHH (SUPER excited!!). I was wondering if anyone has any advice?? The woman said that I should prepare to set aside 5 hours- HR interview first, then a nurse manager interview, and then 2 hours of shadowing an RN. I am nervous that my chances aren't very good because I have an ADN. I am also about to start classes for my BSN.

Specializes in Pediatrics.

Don't be discouraged! They called you knowing you have an ADN. :-) Express to the person interviewing you that you are indeed going to finish that BSN or MSN. I am a RN in pediatrics with an ADN currently enrolled in a BSN program. My department gave me a 5 year time frame to finish a higher degree.

best of luck!

Don't take this by verbatim however have heard they will take ADN per diem and with them building new clinics will take ADN nurse's. However, heard from a bird that two thing's either by 2020 have to have your BSN or sign in a contract will enroll in a BSN program upon hire.

Good luck

Pretty much all of the YNHH hospitals have a blurb in their job postings that the applicant must show proof of being enolled in a BSN or Masters program upon application.

I got the job!!! Accepted the position last week. I can't wait to start!

What unit will you be working on? I was just called for an interview for HVC 5-2. I haven't even graduated yet, I graduate in december with my BSN
