yes i got in for sure

hey guys i see most of you were required to take an NLN entrance test but my school suny Broome upstate in binghamton doesnt require it. I recieved a letter saying that a math test must be done but it doesnt affect your admission...... to pass and be exempt from the nursing math course you need to not get more than 4 wrong out of 25. would any of you take the class just to familiarize yourself with what math is expected as a nurse?

I would. The CC that I am attending has a Math for Allied Health and it is a FUN course. It's not grueling like an Algebra or anything like that. We enjoy the math and for the first time in my life I understand the metric system. It's just getting a thorough feel for conversions of medications, how to read lables to dispense meds, etc.

Now, at our school it's taught by a Math instructor and not a nursing instructor, and she is incredible, and Lord knows that helps. She teaches it according to specific instructions given to her by the nursing department, so we know what is expected if and when we start the formal program.

I had already gotten as far as algebra and trigonometry math courses prior to entering at SUNY Binghamton. I just got a nursing math book and reviewed from that on my own time to prepare. The instructors there also have a tendency to hand out example problems to work on prior to the math tests for review. They have you retake a new math test every semester, if I remember right. I'm getting ready to graduate from Decker this May. They aren't really that difficult and the instructors are really good about trying to make sure people pass.

I'd just get a book and do self study if you are okay with math. There really isn't too much math involved.

hey, which school are you?

Hopefully2009, what nursing school are u? do u have any info about Binhamton?
