Hello,
My daughter is 5 and had been complaining of back aches at least once a week for about 10 months.( daughter still slept in my bed so dr. thought this may have been the cause) We saw her doctor when they began, she had us keep tract of them. Back aches often were accompanied with stomach aches also. Like I said this continued on and she began to have leg pains more often then the back aches (once in awhile now she will complain of a backache) . She also would spike 102 -103 fevers at night and would feel fine by morning. Pcp has done blood work and found that her sed rate was up and ana had false postive. Drs say that the rates are not high just alittle higher than normal, and that her sed rate may just normally be higher. Will check sed again when she spikes another fever to compare sick rate to healthy rate. Pcp also sent her to a ortho doc and he did xrays and examined her on 2 occasions and found nothing. Ortho dr also sent her for a bone scan and found nothing. next Pcp sent her to a rhemetologist (sp?). He examined her and said the reason for her pain is because she is very double jointed and she is over extending her tendons. She is on naproxin 2x a day. All said we will have her blood done when she is sick , but she just keeps having these joint pains and stomach aches and I am worried that it is more than just being double jointed. Have any of you ever seen this or anything similar?
