Hello all...I am so excited that I was excepted in the Oakland University(OU's) Accelerated BSN program for Winter 2015. Congrats to all of you who were sent that wonderful acceptance letter. And to all who are waiting...my hopes are with you. I have been searching this site and I have not seen any posting for Winter 2015 ASDN. I know you are out there because 50 of us were sent letters in the last two weeks.
I just looking for some support, and sharing of information, ideas, an future classmates out there. I don't have Facebook...so I can't talk to you there.
I heard the highest gpa was 4.0 and the lowest was 3.52. I hope that was a more acceptable range for more classmates to be accepted.
Has anyone else applied to any other CD2 program...if so which ones? Have you completed all your pre-req's or are just waiting to be called. Have you taking patho and pharm yet or are you taking them this summer for OU. Well my summer is gone...I have to take them both...because I was waiting on the other schools who of do not require those classes prior to admit. And they will notify after OU summer classes start. I just want to be prepare for all the schools...just in case.
I would love to hear from you out there. Even the student who are already in the program...give back some support...that is, if you have time from the books.(smile)
I am so happy I am accepted in OU, and I send out wishes to all of you, because we know how much work it took to get to this point.

Congrats!!!!!
Today I received an email from a school, (one of my top picks) the subject line read "Congratulations!" I open the email to find they are inviting me to participate in the graduation ceremony for my other degree. Son of a...
Well...Wayne State University, they did it again. I just got notified that the deadline is nearing, June 1, 2014, and because that day falls on a Sunday...they just wanted to seen out a reminder!!!!!!!!
My heart dropped...and I thought...they need to stop doing this. If no one know what the deadline is by now...they don't need to be in a nursing school...right!?.
And then I came to my senses, and felt sorry for the people who are just finishing up their pre-reqs...and then I became respectful of the process...and appreciated their reminder.................but just for moment...............just kidding!!!
But I will add they did state this that, we would be notified in June, and an alternate list will be listed, if there were to be any openings.
Please cross your fingers for me!!!!!

Still waiting on my letter!! Very frustrated. Today is supposed to be the last day they mail them out. I'm getting impatient.
Hi Heathermaizey...the problem with 'the wait' is the un-surety that you are going to be accepted or not, and then if you are not accepted, it that terrible feeling of being rejected for something you have work so hard on. Then there comes, the second guessing yourself...wow what a whirlwind.
Hang in there...there is always a tomorrow...to start all over again.
By the way our process at WSU, is that, we pay a $50 fee to have a file account to be notified. However, no one is notified until after the due date of June 1, 2014. It the wait that is the killer!
When I was accepted by OU this past Mar 2014, their process was by mail...and by the way someone had put my address in wrong...and I saw up on the internet people getting their letters...and I almost cracked. Of course I called the school and they told me I was accepted. and a formal letter was going out that day. When I got off that telephone...I think I invented a new dance on happiness. It was weird...but I was so happy! Now the wait starts all over again...but this is the school that I really want for many reasons, a couple being, it is much cheaper and higher ranked on NCLEX passing.
Heathermaizey, my fingers are crossed for you...please let me know...in anyway. You got my 100% support either way. Believe me...we all know what you are going through...THE WAIT!!!!!

Congrats. I was just accepted to Summer 2015 program. I am taking those classes this fall. But I would love some feedback about how things are going. I have met one person from my class on this site so far. I am really excited but nervous about all the work to do.

Hi Kathy congrats on getting in the Summer 2015...but for which school??!!
I got accepted into both Wayne and Oakland University...WSU starts this Fall 2014, 16 months nursing program, whereas, OU start in Winter 2015, 12 months nursing program. For me WSU is cheaper, but OU less to go through program. I am totally confused. I am just finish up my Pharmacology at OU...and hopefully I will be able to transfer Patho and Pharm over to WSU, leaving me with less classes to take...if I choose to go to WSU, However, I do like the teaching from OU so far. WSU will be a shorter drive, whereas, OU has moved its location 52 minute away from me...after I was accepted into the program...unforturnate my school choice were originally chosen because of location.
Let me know what you all think on my choices...need help soon!!! Good luck everyone! Great job Kathy.
I was unable to go to WSU because I had not finished those elective credits. If I were you I would probably go to WSU, I think their nursing school is better. Maybe talk to the advisors for both schools and take a tour. Have you spoken with alumni of the program?
I am hoping to go to WSU after OU for the NP program for psychiatric mental health.

Hi MSUOUgirl...thanks for the advice...I think you are right, and I did check more into it. I will finish up my prereqs at OU and I will be attending WSU in the Fall 2014. It is closer, cheaper (for me), Highly respected, higher in passing the NCLEX, but it is 17 mos to OU's 12 mos program long.
I had two very stern and hard teachers, but the classes are very easy...just a lot of busy work and time consuming for online classes. I had Patho and Informatics and passed with flying colors, however, now I found out that WSU do not have a class for informatics (not needed, waste of money, so is my nursing fee of $150 at OU). But I am glad I got them out of the way for WSU, so I can transfer them over. I am taking Pharm now, online, summer...This teacher do not play with APA's assignments on drugs...and I just love her. If you are taken Patho and Pharm at OU you will be able to transfer it later for your NP.
Since I have accepted to go to WSU I have been running around doing all of the forms, shots, background checks, CPR (again), uniforms...ect. I know you know what I am talking about because you just went through it. We get our schedule of classes this week. It a little overwhelming because now that I have made the decision I am attending one school and preparing for another.
Let me know how things turn out with the classes.
