Aug 9, 20205 yr Hey all! I am reapplying and wanted to create this for everyone applying. I won't be as involved as I was last year, but good luck to everyone! I know they're having seminars and allowing people to schedule one on one consultations for applications.

I have also read the Sunday possibility, though I have it in my head that it will be Monday (wishful thinking?!). I'm just hoping it's not later than Monday! Good luck, everyone! We're sooooo close. I am not mentally prepared for it to be later than Monday. I blame the person who pointed out that the deadline to accept an offer (22nd) is three weeks after the 1st. That said, I know "first week of February" offers no promises it'll be Monday. I'm also secretly hoping it'll be Sunday. The waiting game gets harder the closer it gets. Constant ping pong between optimism and pessimism over here.

I still stand by it, though! I don’t think they can reasonably give people less than a 3 week window. In my mind, they didn’t name a specific day in order to leave themselves with some flexibility, but I bet they met last week (which I think we know for sure, right?), then they’re hammering out financial aid this week, and they’ll have all the messages ready to fly by Sunday/Monday (please, please!!).

It was good-sounding logic! We know for sure they were planning to meet third week; you never know if one specialty fell behind/is dragging its feet etc. But I think February 1 is very realistic. Plus it's 2 weeks before the admitted student day on the 15th, which people may need to request time-off from work for (I know it's remote but it's still a daytime thing presumably). ??
Jan 28, 20215 yr I really cannot stand for it to be past Monday! I keep thinking “YAY IM GOING TO YALE” and making plans and then I’m like wait “wait no I’m not and I have to tell everyone I failed” ? it’s so back and forth. I hope they don’t torture us further. does anyone know if people who got interviewed get rejected or if they’re guaranteed to *at least* get waitlisted?
Jan 28, 20215 yr I was told by the professor I interviewed with that we would have two weeks to make our decisions after receiving our acceptance. And that we would receive financial aid info a week after acceptance, has anyone else heard something similar?

Jan 29, 20215 yr @GreenMagus87 Amazing!! Thank you so much!! @GreenMagus87 did she happen to say what time? Haha kidding! ...unless she did mention a time, that is... ?
Jan 29, 20215 yr @TellMeSomethingGood I think decisions were released last year early in the morning but I could be mistaken
Jan 29, 20215 yr Hi All... it is truly the final countdown (cue the music). I’m wishing everyone the best. I am having some odd feelings, I can’t imagine if anyone relates or not but I want to get it out to people who at least may understand where I’m coming from. I’m actually nervous to hear back. I am optimistic, but I think either way, my life will change in a hectic way... the thought of: if I get in, I have to find a way to pay for it, move across the country away from my family, and go back to school after being out for awhile.... that’s a lot! I keep telling my friends and family that I could wait another 6 months to hear back, because I’m so nervous, mostly about paying for it. Y’all probably think I’m a bit crazy for feeling that way but hey, change is scary, and I am definitely more scared than anything else! ?
Jan 29, 20215 yr @Cprincesa I definitely hear you - I have to say though, the uncertainty for me is more challenging than being able to start the planning, so I'm looking forward to just having an answer! That said, this has been a fun kind of anticipation - I keep getting butterflies in my stomach and it's exciting to think about the potential for this to really happen (and nerve-racking for sure, for all of the reasons you mentioned!). I am for sure happy that we can put our focus on one day. Enjoy the weekend everyone!
