Today I had a patient come in and had to give them HPV #1 and Menactra. Well I did give them the correct vaccines, but I gave them the state vaccine and they have privatw insurance. Has anyone ever done this beforw? What should I do about it?

I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you saying that Medicaid in your state covers a different brand of HPV vaccine than private insurance covers? For example, you gave Gardasil to a patient whose plan only covers Cervarix?
If so, is it possible to write a letter along with your claim to the 3rd party payor explaining the error made by the staff?

The state provides the vaccines for uninsured children. and children on Medicaid & sCHiP. They track the lot, expiration, temp control logs and each dose must be accounted for. There is a procedure if the state vaccine allotment is given to a child covered by commercial insurance.
It's CDC vaccine for children. In NC you must file an incident report and contact the state to adjust inventory. See here:

Thanks for your help. I'm new to vaccinating. I opened up the wrong fridge (we have a state frdige and a private fridge for vaccines), and grabbed them out. It was the correct vaccine, so the child is protected, but obviously, I want to watch out for my office too.
It's reportable as your inventory from the state/VFC is now off.
