Hope you are having a good snooze. I'm from Virginia. Been an RN for many years and work mostly in home health. I live in the mountains and it's great. I used to be a police officer - took a break from nursing for a while but kept the license current. My husband is a police officer. He's busy keeping the streets safe. My hero. Have a good night at work.

many years of correctional experience here, in two states. have been working mostly ER for the past 5 years (though had been doing independent contracting for the Dept of Corrections in another state in the past few years, so not too long ago).

fixin to go back to work for the military. spent 2003-2006 working for the Department of Army and i got to say, as much as i love corrections, any military gig is even better. i start my new job in less than two weeks, working PACU (mon thru fri 8 hour day shifts, no weekends no holidays no call)..will be a nice change from grueling 12 hours in Emergency Medicine...

i like to stay in touch with the correctional health nursing community because i understand them, and feel "at home"...and hey, i will be living within 30 minutes of 5 maximum security prisons, so PLENTY of opportunity to go back to corrections if i feel like it! (unfortunately, they seem to be heavily hiring LVN's, i reckon because of cost/budget issues, but i know all the units have at least a few RN's so it's just a matter of time that i will be "behind bars" again...maybe!)
