working with tiny babies

I would much rather do NICU than adult ICU but I have a stupid concern: my hands get a little shakey at times (maybe a side effect of some meds). It's not like I have noticeable tremors or anything- I think I'm the only one that even notices- but with premies, everything is so TINY. I'm wondering how essential it is to have have rock steady hands?

I'm not sure. You might have problems starting IVs? How do you do with the big people?

If it is as minor as you describe, I don't think it would be a problem. You'd probably be more bothered by the butterflies in your stomach :)

I have notoriously shaky hands. It isn't a problem for me. When starting IVs, I just make sure to steady my hand by resting my elbow or my forearm on the bed. If anything, I find that's easier to do with the tiny kids.
