I have a valid US RN license. My husband is going to need to travel to Ireland for 6 months for his job. I would like to come, and I will need to work when I am there. However, I don't even know where to get started. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank!

Again, same as working in the UK. Four year degree is required before you can start the licensing process. And the countries in the EU are under a hiring freeze as well, so it is going to make it much more difficult. And the other countries in the EU require that you pass their licensing exam, as well as pass a series of English exams.
There is no way that you will be able to work there the month after graduating. Physically impossible.

Suzanne,
do they require Americans to take a series of English exams? I mean there're some differences in british and american slang but i when watch PBS or "pride and prejudice" i can understand the english they speak.

The UK actually makes all foreign trained nurses write the English exams so that they do not show prejudice to any one group. That is their policy and they do not make any exceptions to it like the US does if you trained in an English speaking program.
