Hello,
I have a question. I am from Wisconsin and thinking about working in Illinois. I heard that you need a license?
Can anyone explain to me the process? Is it hectic?
Thank you.

Are you a nurse? Yes, you need a license to work in any state. Some states are covered under what they call "compact states" meaning that as long as your place of residence remains in the one state, you can work in the other compact state without having to get a license there. However, if you want to move yourplace of legal residence to that other state, then you will need to get a license in that state.
Not sure if this is what you are talking about.............

I live in Nebraska and am licensed to work in Nebraska, Iowa, or South Dakota. I hold a tri-state license; I think it will depend on whether or not you are bordering other states.
I understand now. Thank you!
