Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

HI! I KNOW THAT EVERYTHING I'M FEELING IS EXPECTED AND EVERYONE HAS GONE THRU IT OR STILL IS... BUT I'M HAVING THE HARDEST TIME TRYNA GET MY PHARM DOWN FOR MY NCLEX RN.. ANY SUGGESTIONS? I'M TRYING TO CATEGORIZE THEM BUT I SEEM TO GETTING OVERWHELMED BY ALL THE MED AND ALL THE CATEGORIES.. :icon_roll

I'M SCHEDULED TO RETAKE THIS MONSTER FOR THE 3RD TIME NEXT WEEK... MY KAPLAN SCORES ARE OK.. ABOVE THE 65%.. BUT I'M FEELING SO NERVOUS RIGHT NOW..

HOPEFULLY SOON I'LL BE AN RN LIKE YALL:nurse:! CONGRATS TO ALL THAT HAVE ALREADY PASSED!:yeah:

THX IN ADVANCE! :bowingpur

Everyone worries about knowing meds, but you most likely know more than you think :nuke:. I believe there are several threads on Pharm. Try using the search engine on this website. This is what I did and it helped TREMENDOUSLY. Good luck to you!

kaplan has all the information about meds that you need to know for the nclex-rn. just study the pharmacy section of the kaplan review book.

I took the nclex and am happy that I didn't spend my time on medications because I had 2 med questions and 3 calculation questions.

Honestly, there is no way a person will be able to remember all s/s, contraindications for all the meds.

I would concentrate more on, delegation, priority, precautions, infection control.

I had a ton of meds on my boards and never once did i open a med book to study for them. i really trusted that what i had seen in prac. exams and it def. did! And if it was a q of side effects..which i think i had maybe one..most were teaching..i chose the gi symptom b/c that is what everyone told me to choose. It's way too hard to learn the meds, even categorizing them wouldn't help me. I would forget what meds fall in that category. I wouldn't stress too much about the meds.
