Will this experience help me get into an ICU?

Hi everyone!

I currently work at a LTAC facility where many of the patients are vented, have trachs, PICC lines, IV's, gastric tubes, complex wounds, etc. Many of the patients are s/p MVA's, have TBI's, require long term antibiotics, respiratory failure, CVA's, etc. My main goal is to hopefully get into an ICU or ER. I used to work at a SNF on a "short term rehab" floor, although many were long term and very stable. Where I am now I feel like I know virtually nothing due to the acuity change in patients, that is okay though because I am learning a lot. I just really hope this experience will be valuable to help get into an ICU or the ER!
