Why?????

why is it that a test so simple as decimals, fractions, ratios, division, percentages, reading comprehension and written expression can determine a spot in the nursing program? if there's anybody in this discussion panel like me that have been out of middle school for unteen years, then perhaps alot of this stuff have been forgotten. I took the exam on Friday (the 9th to be exact) i feel confident about the math portion, it's just the written expression of: who, whom, that, which mess and the reading comprehension with the long passages that have a 45 minute time limit. I am waiting on the mailman, my results should arrive in about 2 weeks, sombody pray for me, maybe my guessing payed off.

This makes me think of "death by decimal point." Meaning, one math error of a decimal point in a critical medication can kill someone. "Death by decimal point" kept me awake at night right before I decided for sure to become an RN. The idea that a mistake I could make could harm (or kill) someone made me terrified.

So yes, these things are important. Believe it or not - some people cannot be counted on to reliably calculate math when lives are in the balance.
