Whose going where?

I actually moved here to WV so I could go to CRNA school. I am impressed with MSU's program and am willing to take a chance on the "newness" because for one they are certified by the AANA and the instructors all have long professions with tons of experience. For me it was the right school. I wanted to live in a place that I could afford...for example I couldn't afford to live in a city with a high cost of living so I did my research and here's where I am at. The interview was 4 hours long and I was told that they expect at least hrs a week from any student. Anyone that hasn't taken the GRE should do so before seeking entrance into any program. I met every qualification before I ever sent in my app. Best of luck to everyone!

Jen: There is a huge diffference in MSU vs. CAMC's program. MSU provides a MSN whereas CAMC grads have a masters Health Care Administration. This results where you are unable to practice as a CRNA in several states without the advance NURSING degree unless you already held liscensure as an RN in that state. So if you plan to travel you will be limited on those states to practice in. I agree that not having pass rate statistics are concerning since they have not graduated a class yet and any new program always has growing pains. Treasa, I've been in a CRNA program for 8 months now. I'm also a mom and still get the guilt trips with "you never spend any time with me...." Sometimes I will get up at 4 am in order to study so I can spend time with the family. My co-student- friend has 4 children all pre school age and she studies after she puts the family to bed. School is tough on everyone and everyone needs to do what is right for their family. And keep reminding them that it will all be worth it after you graduate.

I know a lady who did CAMC's CRNA program. I just graduated nursing school and am working in a Pittsburgh PICU so i can go to CRNA school too. She informed me that next year they are changing their program, along with many other in the country, to a PhD program. Just something to think about, if you want your doctorate or just a masters.

I work at CAMC and yes they are changing their program..the word on campus is that it is going to be much longer...phD...GRE score is now 950.
