Which track?

I have been trying to decide between NP and PA and for various reasons have chosen to go the NP route (I am currently an RN.) I have an interest in specialization (neuro and cardio specifically) and I know I would like to work in a hospital.

Due to the job market in my area, I have only found work in home care, mainly managing trachs and vents. From what I gather, to specialize and work in a hospital, I should become a ACNP, correct? Will I be employable as one if I have only even worked in home care? Or will the education I receive in school be sufficient? Obviously I know it will help, but truly, the job market here is impossible so making my way to acute care could longer than I could imagine!

Thanks!
