Which Accelerated Nursing Program should I pick (Rutgers Camden (ABS) or Jefferson (FACT)?

Hey everyone,

I'm currently interested in doing am accelerated nursing program. I'm just unsure which program would be best for me. If anyone is currently a student at either Rutgers Camden (ABS) or Jefferson (FACT) please let me know what you like/dislike about the program. Also, please let me know how intense the program is (is it doable)? My ultimate goal is to be a NP. I want to make sure that the school I pick will give me the fundamentals I need to succeed. I don't want to waste my time at a school where I won't know what I'm doing out in the field. Please let me know about how the schedules work (typical week) and what they look like.

I understand that Rutgers Camden is 15 months compared to Jefferson which is only 12 months do you think I'll get more out of the 15 months than 12?

Thank you!

I went to the Rutgers program and work with people who did Jeff. We all turned out fine and are competent. My vote is go for what's cheapest and then go find a job with tuition reimbursement....then worry about your NP.

That's great to hear! I have a couple questions for you if you don't mind answering. What year did you graduate from Rutgers Camden? How many days a week are you in class/when do you do clinicals?

Expect to be in.class 2 to 3 days per week....plus lab times and what not. Clinical is also 2 to 2 days per week depending on the semester. Schedules vary and clinical days are different all the time. Regardless of what program you choose, it will be very time consuming.
