I currently work as a nurse in public health, but am interested in getting my FNP. I have been looking at job ads online and it looks like there is quite a range of places you can work. I know most people think of working in a family clinic, but what other options are available? Where do you work in the hospital? what specialties did you end up in? What was your first job with your FNP license?
thanks! and keep up all your hard work.

I work as a FNP-BC for a neurosurgeon. I am close to competing my RNFA so that I will be able to bill for intra-operative time. I work in Texas.
My wife, who is also a nurse practitioner, practices with pediatrics and adults in a rural clinic. We have been nps for about 1.5 years.
Good luck.

I work in a community health center doing Peds and family. My husband is currently working on his MSN now to become an ARNP. I will probably stay here for 5 years before deciding to venture off. The schedule for now is flexible so I don't know where I'll be in a few years.

I am a new FNP-BC graduate and I work in a rural clinic, but also have hospital admitting privileges. I work 4 days per week, am on hospital call one week per month and have most weekends off :). I love my job!
