For the first time I noticed 14 people viewing "research" thread at the same time. Where are you and what's up?

Hey, I'm here! I've been lurking in the forum ever since I accepted a position in perinatal research. I don't start my job for a couple weeks, so I don't have a lot to add at this point.

Participating in a self-confidence study to see how long it takes outcomesfirst to ask, "Anybody?".:D

Kidding, LOL! I check in a couple of times a day. I'm neuro, I'm research. I would suspect that the quiet-itude is due to the significant lack of cross-over in protocol applications. Its not like med-surg, where you can discuss your GI patient's issues/problems, and have 30 other people chime right in.

Ok, Klone - this is really weird! I am also an OB RN who just recently accepted a perinatal research nurse position. I start my new job in mid October. I have followed the OB thread for a few years and always appreciate your comments! Looking forward to starting this new journey and sharing more information.

Well, right now there are only 9 viewing, but I'll post after having lurked in the past few months. I'm in the third semester of my ADN program and as much as I wanted to like bedside nursing, I just don't. I guess it shouldn't really be all that surprising to me as I've spent the last 12 years in pharmaceutical research as a scientist. I had also assumed that right out of school I'd "obviously" start with bedside nursing, med-surg or the like, until I had experience. But, it sounds like there are other options out there. Research really appeals to me, since it's my background (although I also posted on the front page today about finding other opportunities in nursing), and many of you here are very helpful with your information about jobs and opportunities. Maybe someday I'll get to post here to help someone else figure out what they'd like to do. All the best to all of you.
