Where to start?

I am a UK trained and registered nurse with 9 years poat registration experience. The past 6 years of this has been in theatre/ operating room nursing in several specialities, mainly acute surgery and trauma.

I really want to live and work in USA. I really don't know where to start! I know there are many agencies that deal with this kind of thing but i would like to try to do it on my own if possible.

I would like to hear from anyone that had any advice or could share their own experiences of trying to live and work in USA as a nurse

thanks!

Have a look at the top of the international forum, lots of info on where to start. The biggest decision is where do you want to live. Can be done on your own and will need CGFNS (depending on where depends what CGFNS needs to do) Passing NCLEX and getting visa screen from CGFNS once passed NCLEX hospitals will be more favourable if you have passed NCLEX

Good Luck
