hi!
right now, i'm weighing my options on how to enter the field... i'm second-career, started pre-reqs at portland comm college... it's really difficult to get in anywhere, so i plan to apply everywhere. i'm also eligible for the accelerated bsn as i have a master's degree in communication.... in case i don't get accepted anywhere, i plan to do an lpn course... so i was wondering where you all were going to lpn school??
here, i think the 1st year of an asn in comm college gets u an lpn or you can get it at a technical/vocational school, such as concorde etc
spendier than cc, but at least you can get in somewhere instead of twiddling your thumbs, waiting to be accepted at rn or bsn school!
thanks

Since I had no prior college degree or prerequisites, I attended an LPN program at a pricey vocational school in Southern California. It was rather expensive, but I was in and out within 1 year with no waiting lists or prerequisites.

I am in Galen School of nursing in St petersburg,FL, its a good school but very pricy, it is private, and has a very good reputation in the Tampa Bay area, They offer LPN and LPN-RN programs, thats the only programs they offer. There is no waiting list.
