When is the right time?

when is the ideal time to be a nurse entrepreneur?

I mean .. how many years of experience is essential before venturing into entrepreneurship..

I have some ideas in mind on what i wish to do.I have done research and layed out my task plans.

Its the fear factor that is holding me back. Its about the marketing strategy... and also because i havent been working for a year. I have four and half years of nursing experience but in different areas , the acute hospital , homecare , clinic and infant care. Is it better for me to get more clinical experience before embarking solo?

Ditto to what Karen has stated; you have plenty of experience already. YOu may need to get sone confidence under your belt and that can be assisted with finding a supportive group with similiar goals.

Try finding a business group that meets on organizing and writing a business plan. Yo can mull, savor, and work through ideas with other Entrepreneurs. I was fortunate to find a group through my local Better Business Bureau; there are many options across the country. You may have good luck finding a local group through your local college.

I welcome more comments and suggestions. I guess I was more surrounded by negative thoughts than positive ones.

Therapeutic massage is not recognised as part of nursing intervention by the nurses board in my country. But i strongly believe it does and especially after reading more articles on it effectiveness. Any ideas how its possible for me to practice it without endangering my licence?

im still in the midst of brainstorming my ideas. right now im working on writing a book for caregivers.Any nurse counsellors out there?if you can share with me what are the specific job descriptions like?what are the essentials for one to qualify?

i realised my strengths are in listening to patient's concerns and i strongly feel that the psychosocial and emotional aspect are often left out as busy nurses in the ward are often chasing after time to complete the errands and not viewing the poor patients as people.(based on my experience)

when i was working in the ward, i sat down with patients to talk to them, as they opened up to me about their frustrations and worries. that would normally be when i was working on sunday afternoon shifts. i strongly feel that there is a need to update them what is going on since there is a big lacking in that. i believe too that a nurse has the duty to get the care giver to understand and be informed of the disease process and the importance of planning of care prior to discharge(in detail) and self care.
