When to apply for a job?

I graduate in May with my BSN. My uncle has scheduled to take me to Peru for a graduation present at the end of August to the beginning of September for around 10 days. I will hopefully be taking my NCLEX before we leave. So, when should I apply for a job?

    This depends on the region where you live. Where I live, for a new grad hospital position you'd be expected to apply three to four months prior to graduation. However, the norm in other areas is to apply after you've passed NCLEX.

    You do not want to wait too long, though. The nursing employment market has become tougher in recent years and people who wait too long after graduation are sometimes left behind. Good luck to you.
