When to apply to Frontier

I will finish my BSN this summer (from WGU) and would like to continue on toward CNM through Frontier without a hiccup. Do I have to wait until I have my BSN "in hand", or can I begin the application process before then? Any help is appreciated!

If the BSN is your first nursing degree, then you will need at least a year of nursing experience before you can apply to the CNEP program (for nurse-midwifery). There is also an ADN to MSN bridge program.

Thanks for the response. I've been a RN for longer than I care to admit, LOL! I emailed Frontier but got no response. Apparently I'm not worth their time until I have the BSN in hand.

Ahh now I see that you have 15 years of experience! Hmm, that is a good question then. Since you are so close to getting your BSN, maybe it would be good to wait to apply to the MSN program rather than the ADN to MSN bridge? I would be persistent and send them another email - or call them. :) They are helpful in recommending when to apply for the program you are interested in. You ARE worth their time!

Nope, you do not have to have experience as an RN in L&D to get into their CNM program. I passed the NCLEX in May of 2009 and started that November 2009 in the ADN to MSN bridge program. I stayed in the same field I had worked as while being an LPN, rehab. You also do not have to have your license in hand, I met several students via facebook that where already accepted, pending they past the NCLEX. So apply there is no good reason not to.
