After working nearly 34 years in nursing, my body is a wreck. I have arthritis in my spine, neck and knees and its really getting difficult to keep up in the Emergency Dept where I've spent most of my career. I believe that any form of patient care (floor, OR, ER, etc) is going to have challenges when its painful to walk and/or move freely. So, my question is this: what next? I'm a little too young to retire (60) and how does a person find "desk jobs" that still stimulate your mind? I have been doing some traveling nursing of late and its getting to be too much too. Please do offer some feedback here as I really do need to work for the obvious financial reasons. I'm a widow and have no one to help me out.
Thanks,
Medicine Woman (aka Brenda)

Your critical care experience might lend well into medical review or telephonic nursing.

Case Management! Your experience is a huge asset. Demand for this field is growing due to ACA. Insurance companies have always had these positions, but hospitals are now hiring more because they have to become much more effective at managing patient through-put.
