Hi!
Im looking to get a job as a CNA while getting my prereqs taken care of for nursing school..
Just wondering, what exactly is the difference between a nursing assistant, a certified nursing assistant, and a patient care tech.
I called one place about a job & they said they prefer NA's over a CNA.. why would that be if the latter is certified?
Thanks for any replies!

NAs an CNAs do the same job, just that one has passed certification tests and have the proof. NAs make less money, which is why some places prefer them.

Also, you might ask the HR department about the terms they use. I find it varies considerably from one hospital to another. Be sure everyone is "on the same page".
