What is Needed to be a nurse

Hi, my name is Connie and I am new to this. I am currently going to school to be an LPN. If I get accepted to the program I will start this August 07. I've been going to school for prerequisits for the past 2 1/2 years. I was just wondering what you guys have to know to be an LPN. What anatomy and physiology? What exacly an LPN does, basically what I need to know to start studying. I already took A@P but I know I need to study it until I know it. Thanks, hope to hear from ya all!

You'll need to have a decent grasp on the anatomy and physiology of the human body in order to understand all of the disease processes and effects of medications. After all, one subject builds upon the other.

However, a few things are more important than book knowledge. Some common sense, 'tough skin', critical thinking skills, and compassion for helping others will carry you a long way in nursing.
