What do LPN's do........

in a LTC facility? I know they pass medicine. But What else do they do?

Depends on the state and facility, but a an LPN in LTC I've done...

Wound care

Dressing changes

Finger Sticks

G-tube care (lavage, feedings, dsg. changes, etc)

Trach care (suctioning, dsg changes, etc)

Contacted EMS/911 when a Pt was unresponsive

Cared for a seizing pt

Advocated for the Pt (either to have an increase in pain meds, decrease in anti-anxiety meds, etc)

Assisting with ambulation

Neb txs, O2 therapy, etc

and so much more that just escapes me right now

hey how are u how hard is LPN course did u have to study alot because i am take that and people scare me by say that is really hard and u can never do it please talk me

hey can u tell me how hard is LPN course because people scare me they say that it is really hard and i can NEVER do it please tell me thank you alot

To be honest, i don't know how hard an LPN course is--I tested out after completing most of my BSN.

Why would people tell you that you can never do it? People do it all the time, otherwise only geniuses would be LPNs, and that's not the case. Talk to a counselor at the school you're looking into applying to.

There is also a basic entrance exam for LPN-I believe it's basic math and comprehension.

I didn't find it very hard. there were questions about medications, positioning, etc. As long as you study you should be fine
