What kind of grading scale are you on??

Published

I am taking 2 nursing courses and 2 non-nursing courses, however the non-nursing classes are required for my degree. The nursing courses are set up on a 7-point grading scale while the non-nursing courses are on a 10-point scale. When I graduate and go for my RN-to-BSN, will they look at my grades?? Will they evaluate them based on a 7- or 10-point scale??

What kind of grading scale are you on??

Thanks in advance:nurse:

Wow, I have no idea. All I know is that most [if not ALL] of my classes are set up on 10-points. 90-100 is an A, 80-90 is a B. It's like that for my nursing and non-nursing classes.

In my nursing program, we are kicked out unless we have an 80 or higher. My friend failed last semester, because she had a 79.9, and yes they use those .9s lol. They don't round up because "they don't believe in it. nurses shouldn't have extra credit." I kinda think that's a little too harsh. That's only .1 away, but that's just my opinion.

A normal one..Thank god..

I am in a BSN program and anything below a 74 is failing.

74 - 76 = C

77 - 79 = C+

80 - 82 = B-

83 - 86 = B

87 - 89 = B+

90 - 92 = A-

93 - 100 = A

this is our grading scale...

96 - 100% = a

92 - 95% = a-

88 - 91% = b+

84 - 87% = b

80 - 83% = b-

78 - 79% = c+

76 - 77% = c

i'm on a tuition benefit... (the hospital that's associated with my college pays for my school, and i work there for 3 years after graduating), and we're required to keep a b- average. people who didn't take the tuition benefit have to pass all nursing courses with a c or above. so far i've gotten a 93, 91, and 95 on my first three exams in fundamentals... and it makes me pretty angry that those grades still fall into the a- category. don't get me wrong... i'm very happy with a-'s... it just seems that a 95 should be a solid a. i worked my butt off for those grades, and it would be nice to be able to say that i got an a on my test. oh well. i'll have to keep trying. hopefully by the end of the semester i'll get one.

i hope everyone else has a better grading scale!

100-92 A

91-85 B

84-80 C

This is the scale for the nursing program. There are no + or - grades. So when I get a 90 or a 91 I want to scream. If I get an 85 I am happy, but that is still to close to a C for comfort. When you have a nursing course that is 8 credit hours, a C can really bring down your GPA. However, at this point I am so close to being done, that getting across the finish line is the goal.:yeah:

I am in a BSN program and 79.5 and below is failing! I can say this because I am the class representative that our entire class is struggling with the grading scale.

Good luck

In my program we have to have a 74.5 to pass. Luckily they round up!

96 – 100% = A

92 – 95% = A-

88 – 91% = B+

84 – 87% = B

80 – 83% = B-

78 – 79% = C+

76 – 77% = C

Anything below that and you are failing.

92-100 = A

83-91.9 = B

75-82.9 = C

Must maintain a C

Specializes in LTC/Rehab, Med Surg, Home Care.

100-94 = A

93-92 = A- (and the minus counts in figuring GPA)

91-87 = B+

86-82 = B

80-81 = B-

below 80 is failing, but they do curve upwards, so 79.6 and greater actually pass.
