What a difference a day makes!

Ok, I'm feeling a lot better about my job today. I was off, but I've decided that I know I can give the best care that I can give while there and the residents may not get that when I'm not. This is just something I'm going to have to work on. My standards of care are high, and I know others may not see it that way, but I do. I know that I can make sure that the resident who needs bolus feeds qid (also gets fsbs and insulin each time) gets them and they are done completely. I can make sure that someone's rear is squeaky clean when I finish their treatment. I will not be helping or improving anything for these residents if I leave. At least when I'm there, I know the work (nursing wise) is done and done completely. Thanks y'all for being there for me and please continue to be as I fully adapt to this environment.

And for your residents what a difference a good nurse makes. It is those like you that improve the quality of their lives and make them hang in there for another day. A nurse like you is what inspires them to go on and look forward to the day that you'll be on duty. YOU keep THEM going. They notice the difference between you and the other kind of nurses.
