What are my chances of getting into NIUs program for fall 2016

I have a 3.25 gpa as a transfer student. I also have a 3.5 in the prerequisites. I don't really think that's competitive I might as well apply at this point, but I am not optimistic.

I got mixed messages when I went to their massive open house.

Nobody here can tell you what your chances are.

Apply and see what happens.

Good luck.

Thanks, that's what I am going to do. I don't hold out much hope though.

It's frustrating I blame myself I should be going into this with a 3.5 and a 3.75 in the prerequisites. I had a 4.0 last semester, but I let it slip. I missed two weeks in the hospital.

Its discouraging. I just hope I can at least get into my colleges LPN program so I can get my foot in the door. After all that's happened, I think I would jump for joy to be accepted to my colleges LPN program.

I am going to apply everywhere I am eligible in the state see what happens.

I don't want to crush you....But NIU is pretty competitive. The lowest GPA they take varies from year to year. Not gonna lie, I've heard they've taken as low as a 3.5, but also as low as a 3.9.

Don't lose hope! Apply all around the state and keep positive :) The applicant pool varies, so it could work in your favor!

Ya I wasn't going to bother even applying to niu, but one of the representatives at my school said it might be as low as 3.0 this year

I was initially told 3.5 was the cut off line for the program, but then when I asked a second time I was told 3.0, so I made the trip up there.

I think I wasted my time going up there though. I might as well apply though.

It never hurts to try! One of my favorite quotes is,"you'll never know if you don't try" :)

Definitely give it a shot, especially if they say that the minimum gpa may be lower. When I applied to my school, it was very unlikely that I would get in, but I still applied anyway and got in. You can't get in if you don't even try. You never know!
