What is caring?

another assignment from nursing foundations. what do you think?

  • what is caring? caring is the consistent expression of values and attitudes towards another person through interpersonal behaviors which place a real value on the other person in the relationship. caring from a process standpoint is taking the time both as a person and a professional to assess the needs of another person and taking the time to help the other person meet those needs whether they are physical, emotional or psychological. personally, i think a caring person is someone who really tries to make a connection to another person and builds relationships through consistency, predictability and focuses on just being with the other person.
  • what makes a caring nurse? a caring nurse takes the time to listen to his/her client, is consistent, honest and trustworthy. a caring nurse will take the time to explain a treatment. a caring nurse listens! a caring nurse will take the time to reassure the anxious, comfort the afflicted and encourages the client to participate as much as possible in their own care.
