What to ask in a CNA Interview?!?

I am looking for help regarding an upcoming interview I have. I made the mistake with the last job I took not asking questions in the interview. This time I do not want to make the same mistake. I do have some ideas for questions to ask the hiring manager but would like others opinions of what they typically ask in an interview or what you think I should ask as a nursing student applying for a per diem cna position in the pacu! thanks for the help

Hi Hmullarkey

I worked as a per diem CNA while I was in RN program too!

At my CNA interview, I was asked some skill Qs like normal vital sign ranges, what to do when you enter a patient room (like greeting, introduce myself, tell the patient what I will do, etc). I was also asked about "tell me about your CNA clinical experience at xx facility?"

For questions, I asked how many shift a week I am required as a per diem. I didn't ask many questions at the interview but was hired... At the end, I told the HR person and manger something like "I really love to work there because I heard many good things about the hospital" to show my strong interest.

Good luck!!

It will be great experience for you!!

Ask about staffing ratios (how many patients you would be assigned on average). Ask what challenges the floor is facing. Ask what the interviewer likes about working there.
