Hello everyone! I decided to make one since I haven't seen anyone start it yet. How is the application cycle going for everyone? Let's share some stats ?
BS in Biology w/emphasis in physio
GPA: 3.2
Pre-req GPA: 3.8
3,000+ healthcare hours as a medical scribe and medical assistant
~50 hours of volunteer work.
What about you guys? I'm nervous! Does anyone know when we will be hearing back?

Hi! I had a virtual advising appointment recently and I was told that the interviews would be held in January and February and there are 10 available interview days. From previous threads, I believe they contact you about interviews ~1-3 weeks prior to the interview dates?
I'm hoping to have my application completed (besides LORs) in a week or two!!

Thank you! This is super helpful. Crossing my fingers! Same here, I need to finish up the little things ?
They haven’t answered my emails for over 3 weeks...

Hi there! I'm Brooke! I also sent an application this semester. Some tidbits about me:
I have a B.S. in Kinesiology-Exercise Science
I had a 3.3 (?) cumulative from Fresno State and three additional C.C.'s
(I had so much trouble getting some of my classes throughout the years)
If I remember correctly my prereq GPA was 3.6
I've had over 200 hours total of clinic + hospital volunteership before being pulled to work as a rehab aide in a ventilator/ trach care sub acute care center. I have worked over two years per diem, but with basically full time hours. I work with a multitude of scopes including: Physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory care, and of course, nursing.
I have so much respect for the nurses I work with. I aspire to be the level of cool, calm, and collected that these individuals are with how much they go through on a daily basis. I hope to be admitted to Western University because I have faith that their MSN-E program will allow me to be well prepared to enter the professional realm as a nurse practitioner in the future.

Hey guys! Has anyone heard anything from this program yet?
Nothing yet for me! I keep refreshing my email LOL. But I did submit my application on the second to last day and they said they review in the order they receive them.

Is anyone currently attending this school? I came across their information and I am a little concerned that so many have stated that they are having trouble with communication from Western U. I know that Covid has changed the face of education but communication should still be the same, professional and timely. Thank you for any insights that you all can provide!

You can DM @ themindfulnurse_ on instagram! She goes to WesternU and is in her second year of the MSN-E program. She likes to mentor people trying to get into nursing school so I'm sure she'd be happy to answer your questions!
