WARNING! Check your DAR

Just wanted to pass along that it I found that it is extremely important to DOUBLE check that everything on your DAR is correct. My advisor sent me an email (after a question I asked) listing the courses I needed for my degree. On the list was microbiology, which I knew for a fact I had previously taken. I checked my DAR and it also had this error. Only after I emailed her questioning this was my DAR changed.

So....moral of the story. Make sure that OU is not requiring you to take classes that you have taken before. There could be an issue with the amount of credits OR it could be an error as in my case. But, its worth checking into. Saves time and $$$$$$

BelleKRN, You are so correct! I know of two people who were shorted 6 credit hours and were extremely upset. Their advisor said one thing, the DARS said something else.

I agree. And also know that if you took a class that sounds like it meets the course description, even if the course title is not exact, it is well worth your time and money to submit your exact course description to see if it counts. I was able to get out of microbiology that way but I had to have another university dig up the course catalogue from 1979. Ten minutes of my time saved me money and repeating a class I had already taken. Question everything when it comes to courses you need or think you might have taken.
