Hi all, I am an LPN for 6 yrs and i have all the pre-requisites for the associates degree and then some: A&P 1, A&P 2, chemistry, English 1 & 2, sociology,Communications, Psychology and developmental psychology, Statistics, Art, history. These are all recently done at a community college. Most of the nursing programs in NY have waiting lists and ridiculous requirements, plus i work part time and pick up as many hours as i can. I would like to start excelsior but i am worried about finding a job after and whether this program really works or not. Any advice or insight from those who have recently graduated or are currently taking this program would be great:D...

It worked for me and everybody else here in Georgia that I know personally who went the EC route, as well as countless others who went in when I was there. Don't quit your job though, because a lot of new grads are having some difficulty in the job hunt even when some of them went the traditional route. I went through EC in 2009 and made sure to keep my foot in the door of the job I had then just so I wouldn't be faced with the issues as a new grad. Good luck!
