Wanting to know

I'm a CNA and at my job that I started in March I've been threatened twice with abandonment if I left at my scheduled time to leave because they don't have coverage for the next shift. There will be other CNAs there but I'm the only one that's been threatened. I've done been to the Administer since we have no DON and told him this has happened. This is my second nursing home job any opinions on this.

Look up what constitutes abandonment according to your state. Then, find out if it applies to unlicensed personnel as well as to licensed nurses. Chances are, this facility is blowing smoke to coerce you in staying beyond your scheduled time. Doesn't mean they can't terminate you and make your life miserable, though.
