Wake Tech Spring 2017 Start

Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.

Hey guys! It's so good to hear from you! Awe, don't cry Jpeters247 {BUG HUG} You almost made me cry. I can't believe that you guys don't have your letters yet. Just crazy. I would still remain hopeful and prayerful about it. I've heard they send letters out in batches so, hopefully it will come by end of week. I'm still praying that WE ALL get in! You guys maybe alternates also. Like gakpele said "stay positive"!! God has it ALL in control and he does JUST what he says!:x3:

Congratulations to everyone who got in! Alternates don't lose hope. I was an alternate for fall 2016 and ended up getting a seat. Stay positive and good luck!

Thanks! Emilynicole91, how many seats were filled for your cohort? Accepted and alternates total?

It was like 90 something....96 I think...They ended up adding seats.

See? I am hopeful for those additional seats for you guys! Cannot wait to see how many students don't show up on orientation.

Jpeters247 Wish I could hold your hand right now:(. From what I can tell on your posts here on AllNurses, I know You are a strong woman. This is a bump on the road and I'm so glad to to hear that after letting the feeling out, you are ready to move forward. You can do this. There are other options too. I know that you are going to come up with a great plan. The plan of paying the debt is an amazing one already! ( I know I need to start paying mine back too). It's still not too late to get 200 hours before applying for spring 2018 at WTCC at least. A summer class of BIO class will also boost your points. while waiting, you can apply at Durham Tech. Application is on November 1 - February 1. I'm not sure with Johnston CC's deadline to apply. Just hang in there!

gakpele hopefully you guys get you letters tomorrow. I am loving the positive attitude of yours!

By the way guys, I saw my background screening result last night. It's all good. Laila34, CN_2bRN919, you guys saw your's yet?

WSMom, that was beautifully put and I ABSOLUTELY agree!! :yeah: Thank you for those encouraging words of advice! :cat:

I haven't checked mine yet but I'm sure it's all good too! I had to use the same website for my CNA course over the summer. I'm legit..LOL!

Thanks EVERYONE for the kind words. I'm sure I've gotten my letter, but because I'm over it, I'm not even looking for it...........may not even open it. I've already regrouped and have started studying for the new ATI TEAS. Will most likely take a CNA course so I can at least have the clinical experience that everyone else has gotten. Guess we'll see what happens next.

Hi guys! Any new news yet? How's it going my fellow alternates? I just noticed something that makes me a little concerned. We will only have 11 weeks after orientation to be fully accepted into the program. Fall 2016 applicants had at least 17 weeks to be accepted. EmilyNicole and Aperegoy got accepted during the 15th week (2 weeks before clinical). I hope and pray that we move up the ladder quickly bc we won't have much time. :sorry:

Hi Everyone,

I am also an alternate for spring! I completed my background check and have my physical scheduled. Now just trying to relax and wait for orientation! Wishing the best for everyone here!

Hi and welcome glymhrt, CNA!! :woot: Congrats on your alternate status!! I'm anxiously waiting for orientation also! How many points do you think you have? Best wishes!!

Hey all,

First time commenting but long time stalker of this thead haha I am also an alternate :((( I got denied from the ECU program last semester so i moved back home. I was at about 159.5 but the .5 doesn't count -_- I hope i'm at least top 10-15 in the alternate list so I make it cause I CANNOT wait until right before classes start for a decision. For those who have attended the orientation session before, i have no insurance right now....do yall have any advice as to what I should do? does the coverage have to be just for when the semester starts or from when you apply? Thanks and congrats to all who made it!!!
