Wake Tech Spring 2017 Start

Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.

Hey Laila34!! Thanks... I've been avoiding this place like the plague but I got news that next week will probably be the week so I decided to see how everyone else has been doing and also to see if anyone else has chewed their fingernails off like I have lol. Wedding planning is going well! getting closer and closer. We're going to take engagement pictures this weekend in Charlotte so that will get my mind of school for a bit. How've you been holding up?

Hey gakpele!! I avoided this place completely yesterday..lol!!! I keep finding myself re-reading old posts, thinking that I missed something..lol! I've been holding up the best I can. Hopefully this time next week, I will be able to relax a little. Anywho, your pictures are going to come out beautiful!!! Congrats again!! :cat:

Joyneral12, welcome and thank you for the update!!! Friday or Monday??? Wowsers!! You got me freaking out now!! LESS THAN A WEEK LADIES!!! We're almost at the finish line! :woot:

Just in case you guys wanted to navigate and look at our scrubs and pricing, I'm providing the link. I hope it works but here goes:

Castle Uniforms, Incorporated

This is amazing, feels so real. I see these students in their blue scrubs all the time at work (Rex). Spring time there normally outside eating lunch with their preceptor. I also was looking at the EPIC training that's taught to students as well. Can't believe that I've been working in Epic for 3 years now, couldn't stand it at first, and now could possibly be taught another side of it.

I wonder if they mean Friday and Monday of next week? If we get it this Friday or Monday, that would be a week earlier before past years has received them.

Jpeters, you might get yours earlier than us because you stay 5min away. You might get yours Saturday! I think it will be next week for the rest of us. By the time the mail makes it from Main campus, then through US postal, it will be at least 3-5 days. I wish they emailed our status like some other schools but oh well, COMMENCE THE WAIT!! Tick tock tick tock!! :roflmao:

It's nice to meet y'all too!!! Yeah I'm thinking we'll get it Monday as well! This weekend is going to go by super slow lol CN_2bRN919, I have 185 points including the TEAS points. What about you?! It freaked me out when I read on here how many applicants there were this semester!!!

As long as at least one of us gets a letter that has the points range in it, then I think we can all gauge where we stand! I wish they emailed letters as well, but we will know soon!

Joyneral12, I'm nervous about the amount of applicants as well! I keep reminding myself that last semester there were 203 applicants and the points started at 162. Hopefully the points will be lower, but if they're not, hoping they're not too far off from that 162. I just confirmed with advising that I have 188. I'm nervous because of the fact they've only accepted 60 students. 10 or so less than the fall.

CN_2bRN919, how did you confirm your points? What did you say? Did you email? Face to face visit? I need to do the same thing and confirm.

Laila34, I emailed them after we talked about the "program evaluation" tool just to make sure that the classes I was using to add my points at home were the same classes they were using for ranking for the program. They were able to confirm that the two classes that I asked about were used for ranking, and also said how many points I have.

I just emailed health science advising asking about my points. They wouldn't disclose that information and told me that I could make an appointment with BW to review my points and my ranking sheet. I'm not doing that, so I will just keep anxiously waiting on my letter and pray for the best. I truly hope it's not a BIG difference in points from Fall 2016 either. We've all worked SO hard to come this far and NOW is OUR time.

Laila34, how many points did you add together for yourself thus far?

I just noticed that I've been adding up a course with the wrong grade..ugh. I got an B in a course that I thought was an A. Anywho, I think I have 166 points but we shall see what the nursing department calculates. :sorry:

So I know that once accepted students complete their background check before orientation. I also noticed in the information packet from radiography that clinical requirements are due shortly before Thanksgiving (I assume NUR clinical requirements will be due around that same time). So is the background check the only requirement due immediately and everything else is due later, or will students submit other requirements periodically? I know we have to complete a drug test as well. I wonder if that will be due before November.
