Wake Tech Spring 2017 Start

Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.

Thanks girls. Really appreciate it. I'm a true believer that God will see me through. I guess it was just a blow in the stomach because I felt like I got this far and blew it. But God showed me that if those teas points held as much weight as they did in the past, I would be in much worse shape then I think I am. From here on out I will not compare my scores to anyone else's, 2bRN! Thanks.... I can't wait into September now also. There were two girls that were applying with 143 and 146. Made me feel a little better but I still would've loved the 153. So we'll see my friend!

How many of you ladies are just taking a state approved CNA course and then taking the NACES to meet your CNA requirement? Curious as to how many people are actually working as CNAs to get their clinical hours or just using the clinical hours from their program.

I clearly remember when someone on this board mentioned that the state of NC was no longer a challange state for the CNA. I quickly looked into it to find that it was indeed true and quickly registered before the deadline to challange the exam. I did..... and with that said, my hours didn't come from a class it came from volunteering for 40 hours at my Obgyn with the CNAs there. I sooooo didn't want to take a class. This is why it would be a blessing to get in for the spring because it's going to change.

Soooo vacation is officially over for me. I'm back into the swing of things come Monday, that means working and waiting on September to get here, lol. Any exciting news anyone?

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is doing well! September is right around the corner! Crazy to think we'll know our application status sometime in the next 90 days or so... maybe sooner! So close, yet so far away! Hoping everyone is keeping themselves busy until then. Getting more and more anxious!

I'm so excited for all of you!!! I am finishing up the Cna class and the fall I will be taking bio169. I apply in January. I can't believe I have made it this far. Three years of pre- reqs and I'm almost near the end to the application. Proud of all us!!!

I'm sure someone has already posted the fall cutoff numbers, but I just wanted to add an update. I met with Ms. Watkins recently to turn in my application, and she said that the fall cutoff was 162, and people got off the waitlist with 159. Of course, the numbers may be a bit lower for those of us planning a spring start because fewer people tend to apply then.

Has anyone else turned in their application?

Hi kala082008! I turned in my application back in May just so I could get it out of my hair. So did she say they are no longer pulling from the waitlist? I believe there's still another 30 days before the semester starts. I couldn't imagine hearing I got in right before the semester started. But hey, at least that would be a seat!! Did Ms. Watkins say anything else that might be worth knowing for spring applicants?

Hey Kala! Hope all is well. Yeah I believe in the Fall forum it said the points started at 162, but what do you mean people got off the waitlist with 159? Did she mean alternates who had 159 were able to get off the waitlist and be excepted. I sure hope so. I whole heartedly want our dear friend Emily to get in. She's alternate number 3.

I submitted my application back in May as well with a total of 147. I pray and believe that this will get me in. I'm already thinking to myself where will I be when the mail comes at work or will I have my husband whose home every other day check the mail for me, lol. I'm sure it will be the end of September when it comes.

Hey Laila, haven't heard any news yet my friend with regards to the CNA exam. Hope all is well!

Hi there. I'm not sure of the details of the wait list since I was just asking her to get an idea for the spring application. My impression is that as of now people have gotten off the wait list with a 159. We didn't discuss whether they're still pulling from the wait list, but I'd imagine if someone drops out they'll still do it.

That's pretty much all I know. But she kindly looked over my application and added up the points for me. Congrats JPeters and CN for already turning yours in!

Nice! It's always great knowing where you stand! How many points will you have kala082008 if you don't mind me asking...?
